Welcome to Krakatoa's Website
Krakatoa is a multi-style band, with Jazz, Fusion, Progressive Rock and World influences. While their music is very easy to listen to, it is built using very complex rhythmic and harmonic textures, which require the band members to give it all during live performances.
Krakatoa is a quartet based in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, and it is composed by Richard Duval, master of the Soprano, Alto, Tenor and Baritone Sax, Diego Vacca in charge of all Acoustic/Electronic Drums and rhythmic sections and Gustavo Zecharies commanding his 12-String Warr Guitar (Bass/Guitar Instrument played tapping the notes on the fretboard), one of his 6-String Basses and a quite complex effects and synthesizer rig. The band's influences are unlimited, and the listener joins the band travelling through world, latin and ethnic landscapes over a jazz-acid-rock background.

- Krakatoa is currently "on hold" until and undetermined date, due to the geographic distance separating its band members, all scattered at different locations across North America; if ever life brings us closer, for sure we will seize the opportunity to play some of our dearest music. Until then, happy trails to all of you.
